Paul was admitted as a solicitor in January, 1980.

As a trainee solicitor he benefitted from a wide experience in Criminal, Matrimonial and Civil Law and in Will drafting and Probate.

His specialism in his younger days, however, was in Criminal Law in which he gained many successes including – (1) securing the acquittals of 4 of the 5 defendants in a murder case which gained some notoriety in the Sunday tabloids; (2) the acquittal of a defendant in a case of indecent assault when it was established that the defendant had made a confession to the police under duress; & (3) the acquittal of a defendant in an historic sexual abuse case in which it was established that the complainants were lying for financial gain.

Over the last 20 years, however, Paul has focussed increasingly upon the Wills, Probate and Matrimonial and Civil Law aspects of his professional practice and has a wealth of experience in those areas. Nevertheless he does still undertake certain Criminal Law cases.
