Jennifer Lewin is a highly experienced criminal defence solicitor who qualified in 2012, having entered the legal profession in 2008. Her legal journey began with a four-year law degree, including a formative year as an usher in the Magistrates ‘ Court, which sparked her passion for criminal law. She was soon recruited by a local law firm, where she gained practical experience as a paralegal before qualifying.
During her time as a trainee solicitor, Jennifer worked on a complex murder case that led to a clarification by the Court of Appeal regarding the then-new defence of loss of self-control — a landmark moment that deepened her understanding of serious criminal litigation and shaped her approach to advocacy.
Jennifer specialises in serious criminal matters including murder, sexual offences, dangerous driving and assault, but also works on a wide range of criminal offences. She is a tenacious and fearless advocate, known for her meticulous preparation and unwavering commitment to her clients both in and out of the courtroom.
As a duty solicitor with rights of audience in the Crown Court, Jennifer regularly undertakes advocacy in Magistrates Courts across the country and attends police stations to represent clients at all stages of proceedings. She maintains a loyal own-client base spread nationwide and is frequently instructed through referrals from courts and prisons, reflecting her strong reputation and trusted expertise.
