Fayyaz Alam

Fayyaz is a highly motivated Criminal Defence Associate with extensive experience since qualifying in 2005. He has handled cases across the full spectrum of the criminal justice system, ranging from road traffic offences to murder.

Fayyaz is an experienced advocate who regularly appears before the courts. He has significant expertise in managing cases from arrest and pre-charge stages through to trial. Known for his robust approach when representing clients at the police station and in court, Fayyaz has developed strong legal knowledge to meet the specific demands of each case. He is recognised for his meticulous preparation, rigorous research, and effective case management, all aimed at securing positive outcomes for his clients.

Through his professionalism and exceptional client care, Fayyaz has built a loyal client base across Berkshire. He frequently receives referrals from former clients, community members, and law firms within the Thames Valley area. He also regularly represents clients in courts across London, Surrey, and Hertfordshire.
Fayyaz is a qualified Duty Solicitor and a long-standing member of the Law Society ‘s Criminal Litigation Accreditation Scheme.

Notable Cases:

R v M – Represented a client accused of assaulting a police constable by spitting blood in his face. The client was acquitted at trial.

R v C – Acted for a client charged with being drunk in charge of a motor vehicle. Initially instructed as a court duty solicitor, Fayyaz advised a not guilty plea. The client was acquitted at trial.

R v P – Represented a client charged with possession of a bladed article in a public place. The client was acquitted at trial.

R v N – Defended a client charged with possession of a bladed article. The client was acquitted on the basis that he possessed the item due to an imminent threat to his personal safety.

R v C – Acted for a client charged with possession of Class A drugs. The client was acquitted at trial after it was established that she had no knowledge of the drugs in her handbag.

R v N – Represented a client charged with breaching a restraining order for the fifth time. Despite previous custodial sentences for similar breaches, Fayyaz successfully mitigated in the client ‘s favour and he received a conditional discharge.
